HER Internship Description

We’re thrilled that you’re considering applying for HER’s Winter Internship! Our newly launched, 3-month program, running from mid-January to mid-April 2024, is designed to immerse you in HER’s day-to-day operations, nurture leadership skills, and foster connections within the vibrant social impact community.

As a HER Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Spearhead new projects and launch advocacy initiatives under HER’s banner
  • Drive HER’s social media campaigns
  • Organize engaging live workshops and events
  • Foster collaborations between HER and other impactful NGOs/organizations
  • Manage communication channels like social media, Discord, and email
  • Craft compelling captions and blog posts for HER’s website
  • Connect with and support HER Chapter Leaders
  • Host and attend online socials for the HER team
  • Source valuable partnerships with potential organizations or stakeholders
  • Plan and lead project meetings

Time Commitment: 5-7 hours/week

Duration: Mid-January 2024 to Mid-April 2024

Internship Length: 3 months

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Students in grades 6-12 or undergraduates
  • Open to applicants worldwide; the HER Internship Program is remote
  • English fluency required
  • No prior experience necessary – we welcome all young individuals, regardless of leadership or service background
  • Commitment to the full 3-month program

PLEASE NOTE:

The HER Intern position is unpaid and volunteer-based, aligning with HER’s youth-led nonprofit structure. All positions at HER are currently non-compensated.

ABOUT HER

HER (Health. Equity. Respect.) is a youth-powered, global, multi-award-winning non-profit organization dedicated to increasing menstrual hygiene accessibility through providing sustainable period products, hygiene education, healthcare, and employment opportunities to underserved menstruators. HER upcycles sugarcane waste into sustainable pads and employs former inmates to sew the pads to help them earn additional income. Through our ambassador and chapter program, we strive to cultivate and put young people at the forefront of the menstrual movement. Today, HER has distributed 10,000+ reusable and sugarcane fiber pads to women across 10 countries. HER’s work has been recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30, the Diana Award, the Women of the Future Awards, and Canon Europe, among others.
